I'm not a doctor

and I don't know much about love. I once saw a parrot lose a foot saving his monchichi girlfriend from imminent death in a washing machine. My dog likes to hump my cat.

What I'm saying is, I would forgive you if you get a boner from these pictures.

Mustang

I like these mid-80s Mustangs. They entered the universe of car design right before the onset of blobjects that were the inevitable result of computer aided design. This car was designed on paper, with T-Squares, and graphite. (Why Ford gave it an underbite, I'll never understand. ) Anyway, the lines on this car make it cool, the v6 is reasonable, and the choptop makes California afternoons a true delight.

Kudos then, to the fair seller of this classic ride who had the good sense to mod his own chair. Clearly, this 'stang is worth several hundred more than otherwise because the " Drivers seat has gangster lean." I don't know what that means. Does the seat have gangster proclivities? Will it take my wallet as I drive? Whatever. I'd buy it.

"free" fiero.

I like Fieros.  The Yodler loves them.  Maybe its the midengine.  Maybe its their cool 80s style  Maybe he smokes crack.  In any case, I'm sure he'd consider the price in this ad a small thing to pay for a badass auto.  Who needs a soul anyway?

Thanks to dunelizzard on the LeMons pages, who I am sure wishes he hadn't given Jay that soul as an entry fee last year.....

5-speed Mersedes-Benz 190D - $1700 (SF)

Interesting to note that there are five-speed Mercedes Diesels other than the anaemic 240d (and my one-off 300d from Eddie's German Auto Service).

1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Diesel

This ad must be wrong, I cannot believe Mercedes would make a diesel roadster, and I just spent 20 minutes searching for any reference to one on the internet. I wish it were true, though.

I also wish I had $14,995 to throw at a classic diesel roadster, if it turned out there actually was one in Alameda with 42,236 miles on it.

Speaking of diesel roadsters and disbelief, there are some unbelievable options in Europe.

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled less-than-$3000-or-so programming.

1986 Volkswagon Golf Diesel - $3000 (russian river)

Here's something to write home about. A nice looking VW Golf diesel up near the Russian River, wife asking $3k. Not a lot of details in the ad, but a small 2-door diesel with the benefits of VW Golf suspension tuning and access to the awesome GTI parts of its day, this could be a fun little track car.

Okay, it would be an even more practical commuter. And with the hatch in back you might even be able to get a big dog in the back... Would you replace a near 3-ton truck with this little bugger?
